KUSIMAYO PROGRAMS HAPPY GRANDPARENTS

In the highlands of Puno, many older adults face difficult living conditions, with limited access to basic resources and a nearby support network.

Happy Grandparents is a programme designed to provide wellbeing and dignity to elderly people in vulnerable situations, contributing to better care by providing food, hygiene supplies and essential needs.

Kusimayo provides monthly support to the residents of the Virgen del Rosario nursing home in Chucuito, Puno, a facility under regional authority and managed by its staff.

They receive:

• A balanced diet, hygiene products and basic resources to support a safe and healthy environment.
• Companionship: we promote social integration and emotional wellbeing through recreational activities and visits that strengthen a sense of community.
• Support for essential needs: we manage the provision of gas, warm clothing and other necessities, reducing the impact of cold and daily challenges in their lives.
